| As of January 14, 2008, the DEXCOM board created policy that all Short Term Missions (STM) sponsored or endorsed by a local Alliance Church, must have in place some form of training program including current Risk Management Training. |
The Central District Office has created training which includes Risk Management. This module is mandatory for all missions teams. The CCD recommends 7 options for STM Training:
This course is offered through the CCD Office. This course includes RiskManagement. Contact Vince Vetro or Cheryl Walsh to register.
The CCD has redeveloped the "The 6 Month STM Training Manual" into a 20 Week Training Program. Use this new new 20 week material in the same way to train your Short Term Missions Teams in 20 weeks. Designed for all short term mission trips.
This course is designed as a refresher for the 6 month program or as certification to lead teams on STM Trips. Please contact Vince Vetro or Cheryl Walsh to register.
This program is broken down into 20 Units that can be taken and tailored to your church situation. It includes Risk Management.
The CCD has developed a program that combines the resources of Mission ONE and GO Prepared with CCD material. This course of study is designed to be easy to teach to others and prepare you for the whole range of Mission Prep- from building your team, to preparing them mentally and spiritual, to actually going, and then to returning with a lasting heart for missions.
GO PREPARED + RISK MANAGEMENT
A video training series that comes with a manual. It can be purchased at www.tcci.org.
PERSPECTIVES + RISK MANAGEMENT
OPERATION WORLD VIEW + RISK MANAGEMENT
This 8 to 12 week training course provides the same theological foundation as the Perspective but in a shorter period. This is a resource of Mission ONE, it can be obtained at www.mission1.org or, if available, can be borrowed from the District Office.
Please Note that regardless of the Training chosen, Risk Management is still required to be a component of the training process. |
