Ministry Highlights
Oakville Creekside Alliance Church | Update and Prayer
Oakville Creekside Alliance Church (OCAC) recently experienced a few months of turmoil. The former senior pastor concluded his time and members of the congregation were confused and frustrated, many left the church, and the lease of their worship venue was coming to an end… It was certainly not a rosy picture!
A Statement Regarding The Crises In The Ukraine
As we watch and pray through the news of the day, may our sense of uncertainty and fear and helplessness for a nation create “resolve” within us to inquire of God. While we may not know what to do, may our eyes always be on the One we call Prince of Peace, God of all comfort, our very present help in time of need.
Jacqueline Street Alliance | Update and Prayer
Jacqueline Street Alliance—a church plant of West London Alliance Church and a New Venture of the CCD—has been meeting on Sunday evenings for vision and prayer nights in preparation for their Easter launch.
Sanctuary: Church Muskoka Style | Update and Prayer
After operating in partnership as a church and a retreat centre, 3 Crosses and Sanctuary: Church Muskoka Style have decided to continue their partnership but to move forward as two separate ministries and charities.
Pray for Erin Village Alliance Church
Erin Village Alliance Church has been in a season of transition for the past 18 months, led by Transitional Pastor Eugene Neudorf. Eugene has been working with the congregation and the Advisory Committee to focus on spiritual and relational renewal and clarify their vision as an outpost for the gospel in Erin.
The Lion And The Lamb
It was a fair question and the right one to ask. In the moment I had wanted to ignore the gentle probing. To ride away in glorious victory, feeling almost giddy as I rode the storm on the lion’s magnificent shoulders. It was easier there to pretend I had never heard His voice. But, in doing so I would never find the answer. There was really only one obvious answer. The correct, put a star on your Sunday school chart answer. However, I’m sure it wasn’t the obvious He was looking for. He wanted the truth. Not for His benefit, but for mine. And, hopefully, yours.
All the Things
Crocuses
I lay awake worrying that the storm was damaging their delicate petals and stems—so new and fragile so early in the spring. Will there even be anything left of them when the clouds are spent and the sun breaks through?
God Works in the Mundane
Then, I would spend about 15-20 hours that week setting up for the coming Sunday, preparing the supplies for seven Sunday school classes. Often it seemed a Godot-esque routine with little value. How was all of the time I was spending on cutting, craft preparation, and gathering lesson-teaching props teaching and leading the kids towards Jesus’ love?
Wholly Good
Who is in control? A question that can easily be dismissed, or for some quite easily answered with most assuredly, “God is!” But should we really think about it, at the depth of our soul do we find ourselves questioning “Is he?”
Motivation & Momentum
It’s the start of a new year and with “newness” comes hope & natural feelings of motivation. What motivates you? What de-motivates you? And what happens between the feeling of motivation and accomplishing what you’ve set out to do? Let’s talk about motivation & momentum…
What are your rocks?
This fall when I was sharing with my Spiritual Director the challenges I was facing with the volume of work and expectations I was feeling she told me the following story… There was a man who met God one day. God asked him to take a wagon with three stones to the top of the mountain.
The Value of Equity
The gospel that Jesus preached was not only a message about how to enter the kingdom of God. It was also about how—through the church—the values of God’s kingdom could fill this world like yeast in a lump of dough.
Cultural Shift
Culture is a way of life based on a set of beliefs. What we believe will determine how we behave. The kingdom of God is its own culture. A counter-culture to the world. Hear a message from Stephen Harbridge on the significant role leaders in church play.
Date Night @ CAMA
As the Chaplain at CAMA Woodlands Longterm Care Home, I am continually looking for new, innovative ways to meet the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents.
Moving on from Here
